What is my electrical contractor business worth?

Last updated

Buyers often price an electrical contractor business as yearly profit times a number, and three published ranges for that number are 9.7x-12.6x, 8x-10x and 4x-6x. These ranges come from other deals, not from your company.

What moves the number

The range you see depends on who published it and when. Axia Growth published 9.7x-12.6x EV/EBITDA on 2026-10-03. CT Acquisitions published two ranges on 2026-05-07: 8x-10x EBITDA and 4x-6x EBITDA. The two CT Acquisitions ranges do not overlap. Our data does not show why. So do not guess which one fits you. EBITDA means yearly profit before interest, taxes and some paper costs. An EBITDA multiple prices the business by that profit. An EV/EBITDA multiple does the same, but EV counts the whole company, including its debt.
